I’ve always loved the cinematics from Blizzard, which peaked in their film Warcraft (2016). This film stands out for its interesting design of orc characters, which have already become the hallmark of the company and are recognized literally all over the world. So I decided to create a 3D model as fan-art of one of the famous characters in this series and pay tribute to this wonderful universe.
In this work I set a goal to improve the skills of working out both an expressive silhouette and fine detail of various types of materials for close-ups, as well as to practice grooming hair and fur. Therefore I decided not to set myself any constraints on the amount of texture sets and tris.
I took as a basis the concept arts of Wei Wang which have been created directly for the film.
